Interesting Clothing Facts

  1. United States, Myanmar and Liberia are the only countries that do not use International System of Units (SI)
  2. An average human has anywhere between 2 million to 4 million sweat glands!
  3. Humans, primates (apes/monkeys) and horses produce the highest levels of perspiration / sweat among Mammals!
  4. Humans have been using Leather since past 7000 years atleast.
  5. Earliest evidence of cotton being used goes back upto 7500 years; traces of cotton were found near Balochistan, Pakistan.
  6. The color indigo was worn by royals in the past since it was the most expensive color (due to the way its extracted and processed). Even today in 2021 it is the most expensive color! Although by a very little margin comparatively.
  7. Wool has been used as clothing by humans since around 4000 BC – 3000 BC.
  8. Romans mostly wore wool, leather and linen. Cotton was almost unheard of.
  9. Texas is the largest cotton producing state within United States.
